“Diya We Care Foundation” an Iso 9001: 2008 certified charitable organization which is constantly working for the welfare of the underprivileged in the society with special emphasis on the welfare of slum children, differently abled, aged and destitute. A humble effort which was founded by a group of doctors, professionals and entrepreneurs under the guidance of Padmashree Dr. S.C. Manchanda, Sr. Cardiologist, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and the much admired Mr. Shiv Khera, globally popular speaker, author and educator has successfully made a difference to the not so fortunate people in helping them create a future for themselves. The society was registered as a charitable society in India on 2nd April, 2003 under the Societies Registration Act, XXI of 1860. It is also registered under Section 12A and Section 80G of the Income Tax Ad, 1961. Being registered under Foreign Contribution Regulation Act, 1976 it is permitted to accept foreign contributions.

“Diya We Care Foundation” run numerous projects concerned with the welfare of the underprivileged children.
With the belief that children are future of our country and it is our responsibility to help them and make their future bright. When survival itself becomes the goal in life, education becomes a distant dream and the path to crime is easiest to follow. Children living in harsh circumstances suffer for no fault of theirs and need all the help they can from the more fortunate. Diya endeavours to bring light to the dark world of these slum children. Diya We Care Foundation runs two schools Chetan Vidya Mandir and Diya Playway School in a slum cluster where the children are provided with free education besides other aids to support a healthy living.
Chetan Vidya Mandir — Chetan Vidya Mandir is a shining example of providing education to the slum children in Nihal Vihar, New Delhi from which 330 students are benefitting with free education, midday meal, regular health check-ups and much more thus helping them grow into responsible citizens.
Chetan Play Way – The success of Chetan Vidya Mandir helped in establishing ‘Chetan Play way’ which is supporting 40 students with motherly care and guidance.
Gender Resource Center (A Project with Delhi Government) This is a project of Samajik Suvidha Kendra, Mission convergence, Delhi Government. The main focus of the project is women empowerment component and family focused intervention. This project is being implemented through CRC (Gender Resource Centre) and functions in the community. Through this project, Diya We Care Foundation is catering to approximately 1 Lakh slum people in Nangloi community. They have worked for women empowerment and have provided assistance for better health support facilities.
Diya Vocational Training Center
While India’s economy is growing fast for some, a large number of people do not benefit from the economic growth. Men and women of poor families in villages often have a ‘closed future’ as very few and limited possibilities are open for them. Diya We Care Foundation runs a Vocational Training Centre in Nihal Vihar to support school drop-outs youth and women to make them self- reliant. Training is provided in nursing, tailoring, beauty culture and fashion designing. Diya extends its compassion to these men and women by uplifting their status through vocational training and computer education programmes.
Support to Old Age Home?
Our elderlies are our legacy. The wrinkles, the gnarled hands and the white hair tell us about the times gone by. As senior citizens, they too have every right to live in peace and dignity. Diya We Care Foundation, besides working for children, makes active efforts to care for aged and destitute. It takes medical care to the door steps of old people who do not have access to any other medical facilities. It aims to illuminate their world in all possible ways. It also supports old age homes by Distributing clothes and books, arranging free medical check-ups, providing medical support and by spending quality time with the aged.
Diya Diagnostic Center and Health Camps
Diya We Care Foundation runs Man Mohini Kaul Health & Diagnostic Center in slum cluster, NihalVihar, where diagnostic lab facilities are provided like blood sugar, lipid profile etc. at charitable rates. There is a provision of general physician and a homeopathy doctor. Spectacles are also provided to the poor people at very low prices.
Health Camps and Awareness
Diya We Care Foundation is committed to provide healthcare to those who otherwise go untreated. It is for this reason that we concentrate our efforts in remote areas where most deprived and disadvantaged people live. Diya Foundation regularly organizes AIDS awareness camps, De- addiction drives, Health check-up and Yoga camps. Street plays and theatre workshops are also organized to create awareness on these issues.
Diya “Celebrate Life”
“Celebrate life” is a nationwide campaign initiated by Diya We Care Foundation. In this campaign the foundations are supporting underprivileged children who suffer from chronic diseases like Cancer, Heart Ailments etc. by providing financial support for the costly surgical procedures they have to undergo and also providing them with post-operative medication, costly anti-cancer drugs, which they cannot afford.
Events and celebrations Diya Foundation
Diya We Care Foundation organized a charity event on 18th January 2014 at Indian habitat centre. The theme of the event was “Giving Wings To Their Dreams”, the chief guest of the event was Mr Adesh Gupta, CEO Liberty shoes Ltd. Guest of Honour Mr Nadeem Raza, CEO D1A33 Dubai. The special guests were Mr Adeel Barki, famous sufi singer from Pakistan and chairman of Diya foundation Padmashree Dr. S. C. Manchanda. The Evening was enlightened with Dance performances by the students of Chetan Vidya Mandir’ followed by the performance of our esteemed guest Mr Adeel Barki and Comedy performance by Mr Sanjay Rajoura.
The students of Chetan Vidya Mandir also became a part of Hockey India League organised by the famous Actor John Abraham in Dhyanchand stadium, New Delhi. Surjeet Verma Science Activity lab, inaugurated at school premises on 5th April, 2014 by Ms SoaniaVerma and Mrs Raj Verma of Surjeet Verma Foundation. Activities of the lab include learning science in a play way manner. New computer lab inaugurated by Mr Ashok Garg, chairman, ASKA Equipments Ltd. and Mr SatnaamArora, philanthropist on 13th May 2014. Fifteen computers have been installed at the computer lab. Apart from this a free mega Health check-up camp was organised by Diya We Care Foundation in association with Rockland Hospital and Neemrana Industrial association on 27th April 2014 in Neemrana where More than 1000 people availed facilities of Cardiologists, Gynaecologists, Paediatricians, ophthalmologists, Dental surgeons, and orthopaedists of Rockland Hospital who volunteered for this camp. Free Medicines and spectacles were also distributed in the camp.

‘War against Hunger” so as to help those who cannot even afford square meal in a day.
Adoption of Villages
Diya feels that the soul of our country resides in the village and there is a dire need to develop them so as to make our country progress full fledgedly. Thus we wish to adopt villages who need support for self-sufficiency.
Diya believes, to give a better future to our society it is also important to make the environment safe and healthy. Therefore wants to launch its environment drive of ‘Go Green’ and for the preservation of our natural resources.
