For the industry, self-regulation was necessary rather than government regulation to implement corporate social responsibility (CSR) rules, said Commissioner of Industries Jayesh Ranjan in the conference on CSR organized by Confederation of Indian Industry and UNICEF, on Friday. He said responsibility should come from inside always, and suggested an authority body to look after the compliance with the CSR requirements. While envisioning about CII’s role towards industry taking a self-regularity approach on CSR, he stated that allied action of all stakeholders would bring change in the society. He also expressed his concern about protecting child right while delivering his thoughts in the conference.
