Briefly describe your role and responsibilities, and how many years you have been in the CSR domain.

I am responsible for a diverse portfolio of assignments ranging from Human Resources, Employee Relations to Corporate Social Responsibility and Employee Health and Safety. I have been associated with the CSR domain from more than 3 years now.

Before CSR assignment, were you working in any other professional domain, if so, please describe?

I am actively associated with various professional bodies like CII, AIMA and NIPM & my areas of responsibility and core competencies lie in Strategic Business Partnership, transforming HR practices, Organization Development, Talent acquisition and Development, Leadership Development, Employee Engagement, and Employee Relations.

How has the CSR & sustainability program evolved at your company?

Corporate social responsibility, has been always part & parcel of my role, the difference mainly is that earlier all the activities done were philanthropic, and was acted as on the need basis, mainly towards education & natural calamities. We are doing a lot activities for school children.

Post the CSR act all the focus is more towards Health &Education, where in Luminous is covering more than 1.8 Lac population of the complete Gagret block (in Himachal Pradesh) with two projects Luminous Advance Health care initiative & Luminous advance mentorship program,mainly focusing on preventive health programs & Girl child education.Luminous has also successfully completed its Project NaiChetna–an 18 month project on health care awareness inGagret – 125 villages adopted.

Tell us about someone (mentor, sponsor, friend, hero) who influenced your CSR & sustainability journey, and how.

The magnitude of CSR work being done by The Schneider electric foundation, our parent company’s CSR wing, has been a big inspiration and driving force behind launching the CSR drives at Luminous.

What is the best advice you have ever received?

Treat your CSR not as expense but as an investment for uplifting the society.

Can you share a recent accomplishment you are especially proud of in your CSR & Sustainability role?

Luminous has achieved great applause for its pilot project in field of preventive health care at Gagret,the Project is awarded best community development & best innovative initiative at the National congress CSR & sustainability event.

Another feather is attached,where in PHD chamber New Delhi has selected NaiChetna case study as the best CSR case study presented by corporate.

If you had the power to make one major change at your company or in your industry, what would it be?

Make every company comply with the 2% CSR rule and reach out to all underprivileged to make our country a better place to live.

Describe your perfect day.

A prefect day is full of energy and accomplishments, where in you see your work making great acceptance in lives of other people for betterment, making it comfortable and efficient. 

Arti Sharma brings with her over 24 years of rich experience in Electronics, Automobiles & Home Electrical industries. She has many successful turnaround stories to her credit and has successfully managed HR, Employee Relations, Mergers and integrations across industry verticals.

In her current role,she is responsible for a diverse portfolio of assignments ranging from Human Resources, Employee Relations to Corporate Social Responsibility and Employee Health and Safety. Prior to joining Luminous, she has had successful stints with reputed brands like CK Birla, Panasonic & Yamaha, where she is credited with transforming the HR function and taking it to new heights.

She is actively associated with various professional bodies like CII, AIMA and NIPM &her areas of responsibility and core competencies lie in Strategic Business Partnership, transforming HR practices, Organization Development, Talent acquisition and Development, Leadership Development, Employee Engagement, and Employee Relations.

She has Masters in Marketing & HR fromHimachal Pradesh University, Shimla and is a Science graduate.
